Top 10 Driving Pet Peeves

Okay, lately I've been noticing that there are more and more stupid drivers on the road. Well, there are always dumb drivers on the road, but I've just been encoutering more of them recently. So, in light of that news, I will for your enjoyment (and mine) share with you my top 10 Driving Pet Peeves:

# 10 The No Signal Driver: This driver assumes that people can read their minds, and when they decide they want to lane change in front of you, the whole road is supposed to know it. This is the driver that makes a right turn right in front of you, causing you to SLAM on your brakes because you didnt anticipate it. Or, this is the driver that drives maybe a few feet ahead of you in the next lane, and just changes into your causing you to, once again, slam on your breaks to avoid clipping him (or her!).

#9 The Shopping Cart: this pet peeve does not really have to do with people driving...it has more to do with people's stupidity in general. Has this ever happened to you: you drive into a shopping plaza (or whatever), and find the greatest parking spot ever, and as you drive up and pull into it, you discover that some IDIOT has left a shopping cart right in the middle of the spot! If you have ever loaded your groceries into your car and just left your cart there, stop it. It's annoying, it's inconsiderate, and it's just plain rude. Yeah, that means you.

#8 The "I Don't Know How To Park": Similar to The Shopping Cart, these are the drivers who obviously care only for themselves. They park over the line, take up two spaces, are too far up, or too far down. All they care about it getting their own car into a "spot". Move on over buddy!

#7 The Car in the Middle of the Lane While Waiting for a Parking Spot: Oh, this one really gets to me. You're driving down a lane to find a parking spot, and the guy (or girl) in front of you has found one, signalled and are waiting for a car to back out. But they've STOPPED THEIR CAR RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD so that you cant even over take them and move on. Just cus you're waiting for a spot, doesnt mean you can take up the whole lane! I dont care if you're driving a huge Escalade or Hummer, move over to the right side, the right side!

#6 The "I Think I'm Fast Enough To Go On the Left Lane": Listen, if you're only going like 10 KM above the speed limit, get out of the lane, people want to pass you, but you're in the passing lane. I high beam drivers like you.

#5 Slow Drivers: Enough said.

#4 Cell Phone Drivers: Okay, I understand that you get phone calls sometimes. And I understand that you need to pick it up. I even understand that you need to have an extended conversation...but if you CANT multitask (ie: drive and talk at the same time), get off the road! These are the really annoying drivers that dont signal (because their hand is in use) or drive sooooooo slow because they're concentrating on something else! So annoying!

#3 People Who Have Their Own Lane and Dont Turn: Okay, so you approach an intersection and you want to make a right turn. Do you have your own lane to turn into it...yes! Are you already half way into the lane cuz you're over cautious and want to check if there are any cars coming...yes! JUST GO!!! You're in the intersection ANYWAY!!!!!

#2 Drivers that Make a Right Turn into Your Lane and Dont Speed Up: So I'm driving along, and I'm approaching an intersection, and this driver wants to make a right turn into my lane (to go my direction). And so they do...but they do so going at TURTLE speeds, causing me to SLAM on my brakes to avoid crashing into them as they make a right turn into my lane. OMGOSH, if you're going to come out, at least PICK UP SPEED so that I dont have to brake so hard! (I once high beamed someone for doing that...and they flipped me the bird. C'mon now...YOU cut ME off!)

and finally...number ONE on my list:

Ignoring an Advance Green Light During Rush Hour and Holding Up an ENTIRE ROW of Cars Because You Realized that You Made a Mistake and Didnt want to Turn Left Anymore: So basically I was at this intersection (I was the 2nd car) and the light turn green, with an advanced left turning arrow for us (I wanted to make a left turn). And this lady...decided that she didnt want to go and held up and ENTIRE ROW of like 8 cars traffic. Instead, she just stood there, waiting for the REGULAR green light to go on, switched lane and went straight instead.
Okay, can we talk about how INCONSIDERATE this is! This lady made a mistake, and instead of just turning left and making a U TURN, held up TRAFFIC during RUSH HOUR and made people miss an advanced green. Can you believe the nerve...?

Anyway, Im trying to be a happier driver nowadays. But honestly, why do people have to be so STUPID sometimes?
