till I declare your power to the next generation
It's been a while since I've actually written anything down from my heart. So here goes..
I dont really have much to say, except for at the end of the day...I really do love God. I love the life He has given me (I want to learn how to live loving life), I love the people He has blessed me with, I love the work He has asked me to do, I love the opportunities He gives me (even when it's writing/speaking a sermon which is so nerve wracking), I love my church (...I really do, deep down behind my cynacism), and I love the man I will marry next year...
...but almost at the very top of my list...I love Agape, and I especially love my kids. I know that CL (the other counselor of our grade) and I have been blessed with great, God fearing kids. I feel sooo amazingly blessed to have the priviledge of spending my Fridays with them, and what's more...having the feeling that they accept me into their lives.
Last year was spent getting to know them better, for them to get to know me better, but this year, even in the short few months that school has just started, I just feel like God has presented so many opportunities for them to open up to me. I really treasure each and every one of those times where people feel like they can trust me enough to ask me for advice, or for a simple prayer. Sometimes, when I tell people this, I know they dont know exactly the way I feel, but everytime a kid opens to me, every time someone asks me for help, every time I get to worship alongside these children of God...I mean, this is what I live for. It just brings me the most joy, being able to have the opportunity and priviledge to bring some sort of Christly impact in their lives....you have no idea..
Here's a verse that I started off with when I first went into Tyndale and accepted my calling for a younger generation"
Since my youth, Oh God, you have taught me
and to this day, I declare your marvelous deeds.
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake
me, Oh God, till I declare your power to the next
generation, your might to all who are to come
Psalm 71:17-18
and to this day, I declare your marvelous deeds.
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake
me, Oh God, till I declare your power to the next
generation, your might to all who are to come
Psalm 71:17-18
